Joel Comm shares video of his tour at Zappos.com headquarters. This place is unbelievable! CEO's take note: Here is a positive work environment if there ever was one! Fun, happy people smiling and doing above grade work! Zappos is doing well in this financial market because of the wonderful leadership of Tony Hsieh and the awesome team at Zappos. Just from a few minutes in the world of this company you can really tell they care about the company's success, care about each other, and have plenty of respect for themselves as well. I am not much of a shoe person, but find myself wanting to buy from them just because of their wonderful atmosphere! That is what I call persuasion!

The above photo is the Next Internet Millionaire reunion panel from the recent JV Alert Live event by Ken McArthur. Joel rocked the house with his I Phone application presentation. I have been following several of these wonderful people since the event in 2006. Notably missing is Charles Trippy, who was the runner up for the event. My favorite was Nico Pisani, because of his incredibly giving spirit and willingness to be a team player. They were all good folks, though. It was a fun show.

Finding the perfect Joint Venture Partner

Decide "whether you're a dreamer or a doer... then team up with someone who complements you. If you have a million ideas buzzing through your head and none on the drawing board, find a friend with practical skills and form a partnership. If you're the sort who can't wait to get started, find someone with a plan and offer a pair of hands"

Simple logic indeed, but we tend to forget, (I know I do) that we are not equpped to handle everything. We all have our gifts. The biggest advantage you have in being successful is to recognize your strengths, nurture them, and find the perfect partner to help you with the things you are not so good at. I have recently started a project with two friends. One of them is happy to do the "techie" stuff (which I hate) and another is all about boundless enthusiasm and energy. I try to portray those qualities, but have realized my real strengths lie in my intuition and ability to find a problem and solve it. So we three have the perfect "team" - a technologist, a cheerleader, and a dreamer. The project is in process but I am willing to share the site with you my dear readers, for a preview: Serenity Meditations is my new baby!

Time to Fail

As Joel Comm puts it, you need to allow yourself time to fail. For every successful venture, there are likely many failures which precede it. He stresses that while we do need to recognize a failure when it happens, we do not need to give in to fear of failure. Expect that sometimes your great idea will lead nowhere, and move on to the next one! Setting aside time to brainstorm and experiment is vital to your growth. Constantly try new things with the understanding that not everything will be a success. He says "If we try ten ideas and one works, that's good enough. We'll have had fun with the other nine and we'll still have made money. "

I appreciate Joel's enthusiasm for everything he does. He really likes to branch out and try all kinds of new ideas. We can learn a great deal from Joel and others like him who are not afraid to branch out, take chances and even fall on your face sometimes.
