Dumb Blonde Stuff I Did the Other Day #Blog30

Almost everyday I do something stupid. Don't know why. I'm not stupid or blonde.  I guess you could say I'm easily distracted. Or something.  Surely there is a plausible explanation.

Why write about my own stupidity?  First of all, it's kind of funny. Secondly, I can't think of anything else to write about at the moment. This is the 2nd post in my 30 day blog challenge and I'm gonna do this!

Anyway so the first is this.  Company I work for moved to a new building. Both the old building and the new building have entry keys (little white plastic cards that hold some kind of electronic chip thingy).  I had just been to a meeting where they tell us to take note of all things not right in the new building and let management know.  So I march into the building with my new key card and it makes the light green, but when you push the elevator button nothing happens.  I try this 3 or 4 times, then march myself up the stairs to the receptionist desk, waiving my shiny new card and proudly exclaiming "My Key Card Doesn't Work!".

Sweet Madeline at the desk doesn't miss a beat. "Guess you'll be getting a lot of exercise going up those stairs then!".  As she looks up she laughs and notices.... "that's the key to the old building".

wups.

Now the other thing is a tad bit worse.  I run out in the afternoon to get my boss and me a Coke (remember, "Coke" in my part of the country means anything carbonated and non-alcoholic). Vending machines aren't installed  yet.   It's hot, it's coke time.  I am in an unfamiliar area. The road is 4 lanes, and shortly becomes a bit sparse. Just trees and road and ground. I come to a stop sign.  I wait. No traffic. I wait more. After about 15 seconds it dawns on me that I'm waiting for the light to change at a stop sign. No wonder nothing is happening.

Forward.

Thanks for a good old-fashioned giggle, Karen! For what it's worth, I've done a lot more stupid things than that - but maybe it's because I'm BLONDE. :-)

I've taken my dogs out for a walk and come back to find that I've locked myself out of my condo. The garage area is behind a security gate (and, of course I don't happen to have the gate-opening device in my pocket).

I'll stop at that little example, but I've got tons!

Really enjoy a blogger with a sense of humor,
Melanie
