Ms Welty is a mainstay in Jackson Society, even since her death in 2001. I still think of her when I pass the old Jitney14 (now McDades and home of the weekly open air Belhaven Market). Thank you Mississippi Public Broadcasting for keeping her legacy fresh for those who have yet to experience her version of the south...
